GUIDED BOAT TOURS

The Experience
This is my signature experience on Lake Vänern. A personal guided boat tour through the Lurö archipelago, shaped by deep local knowledge, long-term work in the area and an understanding of how this landscape changes with weather, season and light.

Rather than following a fixed route, the tour is adapted to the day and to the interests of the group. We move between islands, narrow passages and open water, stopping where conditions and curiosity invite us to slow down. Along the way, I share insights into the archipelago’s natural values, wildlife, history and everyday life — not as a lecture, but as part of the journey.

This experience is about presence and perspective. Time to observe, to listen, to photograph, and to understand the landscape beyond the surface.

The Experience
Explore the remote islands of Djurö National Park on a self-guided day trip, at your own pace. After a scenic boat transfer across Lake Vänern, you are free to explore the island’s peaceful hiking trails, enjoy the silence, and experience one of Sweden’s most untouched national parks.

When you are ready to return, we will pick you up and bring you safely back to the mainland.

What’s included

• Return boat transport to and from Djurö National Park
• Scenic boat ride across Lake Vänern (approx. 30 minutes one way)
• Safety equipment
• Orientation and practical information before drop-off
• Pick-up at Ekenäs or an agreed location

Duration: approx. 6 hours on Djurö. Time on the island is flexible and adapted to the day’s conditions. Pickup time is agreed during the outbound boat trip and may vary depending on my work in the Lurö archipelago. This allows for a relaxed visit without time pressure, while ensuring a smooth and well-planned return.

Please note that overnight stays require two separate boat transfers.

My personal recommendation
On the return journey, I recommend choosing the scenic route through the archipelago. It’s a calmer and more memorable way back, often offering beautiful light and wildlife encounters.

This option can be selected when booking.

The Experience
Discover Lake Vänern and Europe’s largest freshwater archipelago with a relaxing day trip to Lurö. After a scenic 30-minute boat ride from Ekenäs Guest Harbour, you are free to explore the island at your own pace — walk scenic trails, swim in Bösshamn or enjoy local food at one of the island’s restaurants.

When you’re ready to return, we pick you up and bring you safely back to the mainland.
