The Fishing Experience

Pike fishing has been part of my life on Lake Vänern for decades.

This is not a fixed fishing trip following the same route every time. Each day is planned according to season, weather conditions and fish behaviour. We fish the waters of the Lurö archipelago and surrounding areas, adapting techniques, depths and locations throughout the day.

Lake Vänern’s vast archipelago, rocky reefs and changing conditions create some of Sweden’s most exciting pike fishing. From explosive strikes in shallow bays to deep-water trolling along underwater structures, every season offers different opportunities.

Whether you are an experienced angler or trying trolling for the first time, the focus is on a relaxed, personal day on the water, combining fishing, local knowledge and the unique scenery of Europe’s largest freshwater archipelago.

Between fishing sessions, there is time to enjoy the landscape, discuss techniques and learn more about the behaviour of pike in this remarkable ecosystem.

The Fishing Experience

Winter is the prime season for salmon trolling on Lake Vänern.

As temperatures drop and boat traffic disappears, the lake becomes quieter and conditions often more predictable. During this period, Vänern’s unique landlocked salmon gather in feeding areas, creating some of the year’s most exciting fishing opportunities.

Each trip is adapted to weather, fish movements and current conditions. We cover large areas of open water using modern trolling techniques, searching for active fish while taking advantage of local knowledge built through many seasons on the lake.

The anticipation of a strike, the sound of the reel and the power of a fresh salmon beneath the boat create moments that stay with anglers long after the trip has ended.

Between fishing routes, there is time to warm up in the heated cabin, enjoy the winter landscape and learn more about salmon behaviour, seasonal patterns and trolling techniques.

The Fishing Experience

This relaxed fishing trip is designed for families, beginners and anyone who wants to experience life on the water without previous fishing experience.

Using simple and effective techniques, we fish for perch in sheltered bays and around the islands of the archipelago. The focus is not only on catching fish, but also on learning, enjoying nature and creating memorable moments together.

Perch fishing offers frequent action and is one of the best ways to introduce both children and adults to fishing. Everyone receives personal guidance throughout the trip, making it easy to participate regardless of age or experience.

Along the way, there is time to enjoy the scenery, watch wildlife and experience the calm rhythm of Lake Vänern’s summer archipelago.
