My Signature Journey
Hosted Field Journey on Lake Vänern
Join me for a field journey through one of Scandinavia’s least known archipelagos.
As the year-round conservation manager of these islands, I share the landscape where I work every day. Wildlife, island history, restoration work and local stories come together in a journey shaped by the landscape itself.
Travelling in a small group, we explore remote islands, birdlife, historic sites and traces of the people who once made their living here. Each journey is shaped by the season, the weather and the interests of the group.
This is not a traditional guided tour, but a personal experience inside a living landscape where nature, history and everyday life remain closely connected.
Meet Your Guide – Martin
For more than a decade, I have worked year-round in the Lake Vänern archipelago, restoring habitats, managing protected areas and helping preserve the landscapes, wildlife and cultural heritage of these islands.
My guiding has grown naturally from this work. Rather than visiting the archipelago, I spend much of my life here. The places we explore are places I know through daily work, changing seasons and years of experience on the water.
The journeys I offer are shaped by this perspective — combining wildlife, island history, conservation work and stories from the people who once lived among these islands.
Experience Lake Vänern with someone who knows the archipelago not only as a guide, but as a workplace and a way of life.
